It's only 7:30, but I've had quite a morning already. I got up at 5 to drive to Breckenridge for photos. Only, I missed my exit and drove all the way to Vail--20 miles further on an icy, foggy highway in the dark. Scary! Why was it sooo dark? Well, when I got back to the hotel, I realized that I had driven over an hour without any headlights! I'm feeling very thankful to be safe right now, especially considering the mangled truck and SUV I saw on the way back.
A local photographer (whose work is incredible!) pointed out some good spots for sunrise shooting, hence the drive of terror. Better luck tomorrow!!
Otherwise, Colorado is amazing and so beautiful. It's wonderful to be someplace where the earth still matters. At home, we've leveled and paved over as much of it as possible. Here, we humans have insurmountable boundaries. We seem to put an awful lot of effort into creating a world in which we have none.
